(Hempstead, TX) — A settlement is being reached in connection to the death of Sandra Bland.
Bland was the African American woman found dead in a Texas jail cell three days after she was arrested following a traffic stop in 2015.
Her family has reached a 1.9-million dollar settlement with the Waller County Jail. The settlement also requires the jail to install automated sensors for accurate and timely jail checks.
