(San Antonio, TX) — It could be the largest settlement to date in efforts to recover money lost in a huge Ponzi scheme orchestrated by Texas businessman R. Allen Stanford.
Two San Antonio lawyers, Edward Snyder and Edward Valdespino, are asking a federal judge in Dallas to approve the 120-million dollar settlement with Willis Towers Watson, a global insurance brokerage.
The London-based advisory firm profited from the Ponzi scheme that bilked investors of billions of dollars. Stanford is currently serving a 110-year sentence at a Florida prison.
