Parent Complains After Finding Bus Stop Near Sex Offender

(San Marcos, TX) — A parent in San Marcos is concerned about her child after finding out a school bus stop is directly in front of the home of a registered sex offender.
Amanda Davis tells KXAN-TV that she contacted San Marcos CISD officials immediately after finding out the bus stop for her youngest child is ten to 15 feet from the front door of the unidentified offender.
School district officials say they were unaware of the issue until Davis brought it to their attention.
They have moved at least one bus stop in the past after a parent complained.
Meanwhile, Davis urges other parents to use the Department of Public Safety’s Sex Offender Registry to ensure the safety of their children’s bus stops.
