(Washington, DC) — A Republican congressman says Hillary Clinton aide Cheryl Mills got an immunity deal to testify in the investigation of Clinton’s email controversy.
In a statement, Utah Republican Jason Chaffetz accused the FBI of handing out immunity agreements like candy.
He said immunity deals should not be a requirement for cooperating with the FBI.
Chaffetz chairs the House Oversight Committee.
Chaffetz’ statement was released just three days before the first presidential debate between Democrat Clinton and Republican Donald Trump.
The FBI recommended that no charges be filed against Clinton and the Justice Department closed the investigation.
