(New Braunfels, TX) — Former New Braunfels mayor Stone “Stoney” Williams will answer charges that he broke into the home of a former romantic acquaintance and assaulted her.
Williams is charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit other felony.
The “San Antonio Express-News” reports that Williams is accused of showing up at the residence with a gun on his hip, banging on the door and slashing the tires of a vehicle.
Witnesses say he later returned without the gun, broke into the home and struck the woman inside. Williams was mayor of New Braunfels from 1999 to 2002.
