Former H.E. Butt Family Foundation President Has Passed Away

Former H.E. Butt Family Foundation President Howard Butt Jr. is dead. The 89-year-old passed away yesterday in Kerrville from Parkinson’s disease.

H-E-B Chairman and CEO Charles Butt says his older brother’s decades of leadership, philanthropy, and humanitarian efforts will be “forever missed.”

Howard Butt Jr. was originally groomed to take over H-E-B, but left to run the Family Foundation.  A memorial service is planned for Saturday at Trinity Baptist Church in San Antonio.
