(Austin, TX) — Texas Senator Ted Cruz is still refusing to say Donald Trump is “fit” to be president of the United States. At the Texas Tribune Festival in Austin this weekend, Cruz deflected the fit-to-be-president question by repeatedly answering that his endorsement of Trump comes down to a binary choice between Trump and Hillary Clinton. Cruz says Hillary Clinton is unfit to be president and “that” is why he’s voting for Trump. Cruz says he also feels an obligation to keep his pledge that he would support the Republican nominee.
