(Washington, DC) — Texas senator John Cornyn is declining to support Ted Cruz in the expected Republican primary battle for Cruz’ senate seat in 2018.
Cornyn told CNN yesterday that he also won’t endorse Congressman Michael McCaul, ahead of the primary, should McCaul decide to run against Cruz.
The chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee has not made the decision to seek Cruz’ senate seat, but there is growing support in Texas to oust Cruz for his failure to endorse Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
