Any student at Texas Tech University can now earn course credit by volunteering to work at the KTXT 88.1FM The Raider’s station at the College of Media and Communications.
The KTXT Practicum course is mainly offered as a course requirement for Electronic Media Communications majors, but anyone can volunteer and take the course. Ask your advisor if this course is right for you.
The two course numbers for the practicum are 3100 and 4390, offering one to three credit hours. Practicum 3100 requires 60 volunteer hours for the semester, so that would be about 5 hours a week. For Practicum 4390, 160 volunteers hours or 10 hours a week are required to pass the course.
Volunteer work at the KTXT station includes learning about radio and broadcasting, get experience in media and communications, production, news, social media, public relations, event planning and more.
The KTXT Practicum course is available for registration for Fall 2016 by all majors, so register today!
