(Cleveland, OH) — Donald Trump’s campaign chairman says the candidate’s wife did not plagiarize the speech she gave at the Republican National Convention.
Paul Manafort says Melania Trump “hit it out of the park” with her speech last night in Cleveland.
Soon after she spoke to the convention, reporters pointed out strong similarities between her speech and one Michelle Obama gave at the Democratic National Convention almost eight years ago.
In a CNN interview about plagiarism charges, Manafort said, “There are common words and values” Melania Trump cares about. He said she knew how closely her words would be scrutinized so to think she would use someone else’s is, quote “just really absurd.”
