(Austin, TX) — The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board votes today on whether to agree or not with a staff report that concludes the state doesn’t need another veterinary school.
That might shoot down plans by Texas Tech to open its own veterinary school in Amarillo three years from now.
The staff report says the high cost of establishing a new school “would outweigh the potential benefits.” Currently, Texas A&M is the only state university with its own veterinary school.
