Police Say Ex-Marine Killed 3 Baton Rouge Officers

(Baton Rouge, LA) — Louisiana authorities say an ex-Marine shot and killed three Baton Rouge law enforcement officers before he died in a shootout with police. Officials say Gavin Long killed two Baton Rouge Police officers and a sheriff’s deputy yesterday morning. Law enforcement sources say Long, who was black and lived in Kansas City, Missouri, also wounded a deputy who is “fighting for his life.” Long was discharged from the Marines as a sergeant in 2010.
