(Houston, TX) — French nationals in Houston are mourning the victims of yesterday’s terrorist attack in Nice, Houston’s sister city. A Bastille Day celebration was underway at the Village School in west Houston, but celebrants could not party after the news of the attacks and instead somberly listened to remarks from the French Consul General. The only song played was the French national anthem. Hundreds of French citizens gather in Houston annually for the Bastille Day celebration, considered one of the largest gatherings of its kind in the U.S.
