(Cleveland, OH) — Newt Gingrich is explaining today’s failed attempt to get a roll call vote at the Republican National Convention.
Speaking with Fox News’ “On The Record,” the former House speaker said the anti-Donald Trump crowd that was pushing for a chance to vote against the likely GOP nominee simply didn’t have the votes to make that possible.
Gingrich noted that Trump has earned the party’s nomination “fair and square” and that there should be unity around him. The failed push for a roll-call vote caused unrest on the floor of the convention, with some delegates walking out.
