Federal Court Must Act Fast On Texas Voter ID Law

judges-gavel(Austin, TX) — A federal court in Texas will have to act fast to change the state’s controversial voter ID law in time for the November elections.

A U.S. appeals court yesterday ruled the Texas law does not comply with the Voting Rights Act and discriminates against certain voters, particularly minorities. The appellate judges ordered that the Texas court come up with an immediate remedy that would allow the disenfranchised to vote in the upcoming election.
