Alamo Archaeology Work Begins Today

The Alamo(San Antonio, TX) — Archaeologists begin work today on shaping a new master plan for the Alamo and its immediate surroundings.

Telling a story that’s more than 300-years-old means plenty of digging and scraping. Scientists are looking to establish the exact locations of the south and west walls of the mission.

The project, called “Reimagine the Alamo,” is led by the Texas General Land Office, the city of San Antonio and the Alamo Endowment.
