At approximately noon on Friday, March 4th, the Mass Communications building of Texas Tech University was evacuated due to a bomb threat.
With fire alarms sounding, students were told to evacuate the building.
Upon evacuation, police officers entered the building armed with assault rifles to search for the reported bomb.
Students remained across the street as police formed a perimeter around the building, keeping everyone a relatively safe distance away.
When pressed for a statement, the police officers declined to comment.
At approximately 12:30, officers gave the “all-clear” and students were allowed back in the building.
No names have been released at this time.
