Texas Governor Greg Abbott says the state is cutting off Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood.
Abbott’s office released a statement saying the decision is because of what it called “gruesome video” filmed at the organization’s facilities. The governor says the harvesting of baby body parts by Planned Parenthood will not be allowed in Texas.
The state’s Office of Inspector General issued a letter stating the group and its affiliates “are no longer capable” of performing medical services in a legal and ethical manner.
