Friday, October 2nd, KTXT will be celebrating College Radio Day. KTXT staff and student DJs will be hosting a 24 hour broadcast that entire Friday from October 2nd at 8 a.m. to October 3rd at 8 a.m.
At KTXT, we celebrate College Radio Day (CRD) because it gives students the opportunity to learn more about their college radio station and reflect on why having a college radio station is important.
KTXT 88.1FM The Raider won 1st place with The National Association of College Broadcasters for 2014’s activities for College Radio Day.
Here is a rough schedule for the different events and broadcasts for CRD:
8 a.m. – 10 a.m. Good Morning Texas Tech (GMTT)
10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Undercurrents
12 p.m. – 2 p.m. Veranda Remote (A set-up in the Free Speech area near the SUB)
2 p.m. – 3 p.m. DJ Casey
3 p.m. – 4 p.m. DJ Simon (Sports)
4 p.m. – 6 p.m. Polar Opposites w/DJs Ricky & Brian (Featuring live sets with local and indie bands)
6 p.m. – 9 p.m. First Friday Art Trail Remote at Culture Clothing (Featuring live sets with local and indie bands)
10 p.m. – 12 a.m.
12 a.m. – 2 a.m. Student DJ Shifts
2 a.m. – 3 a.m. The Matador Highway w/DJ Haylee
3 a.m. – 4 a.m. Student DJ Shift
4 a.m. – 5 a.m. DJ Itza
5 a.m. – 6 a.m. Student DJ Shift
6 a.m. – 8 a.m. DJ Ralph (aka Rafa)
