Now, we have all seen the Hollywood fairy-tell movie, “It could happen to you.” Well, this just got real, at least for these two waitresses.
A waitress in a Manhattan steakhouse is 50-thousand dollars richer today, thanks to a long-time customer. The 85-year-old customer did more than just leave a big tip for Maureen Donohue-Peters–he included her in his will.
Robert Ellsworth was a frequent customer at the steakhouse, and Donohue-Peters tells “Forbes” that she considered him a dear friend. Ellsworth died last August and surprised the waitress by leaving her 50-thousand dollars in his will.
The rich art dealer also left 50-thousand dollars to the waitress’s niece, who waited tables at the steakhouse.
