When the Red Raiders take the field on Saturday against West Virginia, everyone will be seeing stripes. The Tech athletic department is asking for a “stripe-out” according to texastech.com. The Red Raiders are coming off their second conference loss against Kansas State and are looking to rebound at the Jones AT&T Stadium after being on the road for the last two weeks. It will be an early game on Saturday, with kick-off at 11 a.m.
The Red Raider Volleyball team is on the road this week, taking on the Texas Longhorns tomorrow in Austin. Tech is coming off a loss on October 4 to Kansas State, one of only two losses on the season. The Volleyball team is having one of their best seasons in program history, with a record of 14-2. The first serve will take place at 7 p.m. on the Longhorn network.
The NFL is looking for a different kind of criminal: this time with a laser pointer. ESPN reports that, during the Detriot Lions-Buffalo Bills game, a fan in the crowd shined a laser pointer at Buffalo Bills players on the field. Several Buffalo players alerted officials who were unable to find the culprit. Bills coach Doug Marone said he believes the league will do its job in finding the culprit.
Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is due in court today on felony child abuse charges. ESPN cites an email from a spokesperson for Peterson’s attorney as saying that if the court asks for a plea, it will “very definitely be not guilty.” The 29-year-old former NFL MVP was charged last month with reckless or negligent injury to a child.
