TEXAS TECH – Texas Tech guard Amber Battle has been suspended from the Lady Raider basketball team for her role in an incident with former Tech football player Nigel Bethel.
On June 28, Battle and Bethel had a confrontation at the recreation center, which ended with Bethel breaking a bone in Battle’s jaw.
Battle says she initiated the first contact and will take full responsibility for her actions. She was suspended by the athletic department for the month of November.
Battle will need surgery to repair the bone, while Bethel was dismissed from the team and faces felony charges for the incident.
