(Rochester, MN) — Former Cowboys running back Robert Newhouse is dead. The 64-year-old passed Tuesday in Minnesota due to heart disease. Newhouse became the first running back to throw a touchdown in the Super Bowl when he tossed a 29-yard pass to Golden Richards in Super Bowl 12.
(Bronx, NY) — The Yankees buying low on third baseman Chase Headley, and it’s already paying off. The Yanks acquired the 30-year-old from the Padres yesterday and he came through with a game-winning RBI single in the 14th inning last night. Headley had hit .229 with seven homers this year.
(Oakland, CA) — The tentative ten-year lease extension for the Athletics at the Coliseum appears to be moving forward. The “San Francisco Chronicle” reports A’s owner Lew Wolff has signed-off on some adjustments to the deal. The deal will go before a board of supervisors for expected approval.
Donald Sterling Files Another Lawsuit
(Los Angeles, CA) — Donald Sterling isn’t going down without a fight. Sterling filed another lawsuit Tuesday trying to get damages from the NBA, commissioner Adam Silver, his wife Shelly Sterling and the Clippers. Sterling says they violated corporate law in their attempt to sell to Steve Ballmer.
LeBron Apologizes To Neighbors With Cupcakes
(Fairlawn, OH) — LeBron James is making amends with his neighbors. James sent a group from a local bakery on Tuesday around his neighborhood to deliver cupcakes and apologize for traffic jams created by the interest in his return earlier this month. The boxes were accompanied with a card.
