TEXAS — The reaction to the Supreme Court’s decision on Hobby Lobby is falling along party lines.
Republican Governor Rick Perry and Attorney General Greg Abbott are happy with the decision, calling it an important win for religious freedom in the country. Democratic State Senator Wendy Davis says yesterday’s ruling puts employers between women and their doctors. Justices ruled some private companies with religious objections do not have to provide coverage for certain types of birth control to employees.
The 5-4 decision deals a blow to the birth control mandate in the healthcare reform law.
