AUSTIN – Republican Texas Senator Dan Patrick is being called the winner of yesterday’s primary to nominate his party’s candidate to become Lieutenant Governor. Patrick beat three-time incumbent David Dewhurst.
In other key races, Tea Party favorite Ken Paxton topped fellow GOP member Dan Branch for the nomination to become Texas’ Attorney General. In a high-profile Democratic race, voters nominated David Alameel to be their pick to become Senator when the general elections happen in November.
