The Dallas Stars will take on the Detroit Red Wings Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in Joe Louis Arena. This will be the first time that these former conference foes will meet this season. The Stars have a record of 7-6-2 and the Red Wings have a record of 9-5-2.
The Red Wings players to look out for are center Pavel Datsyuk, forward Henrik Zetterberg, and veteran forward Daniel Alfredsson. Look for Stars center Tyler Seguin, captain Jamie Benn, and rookie forward Alex Chiassion to have a big impact on tonight’s game.
Stars Defenseman Brenden Dillon could also have an impact with three goals, four assists and a plus six rating. Red Wings Defenseman Niklas Kronwall also is an x-factor with one goal and nine assists and a plus nine rating.
Red Wings enforcer Jordon Tootoo was placed on and cleared waivers today and will not be in the lineup. Stars enforcer Antoine Roussel will be in the lineup, which will make up for an interesting matchup with any line he plays against. The projected starting goalies are Stars Kari Lehtonen and Red Wings Jimmy Howard.
The Stars power play has six goals out of 50 tries. The Red Wings have nine goals on 51 tries on the power play. The Stars have a combined 201 penalty minutes coming in to the game. The Red Wings come in with 147 penalty minutes.
