(Dallas, TX) — A top Texas tea party leader is challenging longtime Dallas Congressman Pete Sessions in the next year’s GOP primary.
Katrina Pierson announced her candidacy today, saying the 32nd district deserves a leader who will fight for them and not play “business-as-usual” politics. She also says the federal government has gone beyond its means with NSA domestic spying.
Pierson adds she wants to defund the Affordable Healthcare Act immediately and says people can no longer settle for the “illusion of freedom.” Sessions is the chair of the House Rules Committee and has been in Congress since 1997.
