Texas Tech Officials Meet with Nigerian State Governor

WHAT:    Texas Tech University System representatives are meeting with the Oyo State Governor and representatives from The Technical University located in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.

WHEN:    10 a.m. Wednesday (April 17)

WHERE:    Office of the Chancellor, Administration Building

EVENT:    Texas Tech Chancellor Kent Hance, along with Vice Chancellor Joe Rallo and Ambassador Tibor Nagy will meet with Oyo Executive Gov. Abiola Ajimobi, Acting Pro-Chancellor Oladopo Afolabi and other Nigerian federal and Oyo state officials.

Hance and Ajimobi will be signing a memorandum of understanding to explore future partnership opportunities between the two institutions.

Nigeria is the most populous nation in Africa with more than 125 million people and has Africa’s second-largest and one of the fastest-growing economies. Producing more than 2.5 million barrels of oil per day, Nigeria is the world’s sixth-largest producer.
