New Masked Rider to Take Reins, Raider Reds Pass Guns to New Mascots
New horse’s name and winner of naming contest will be announced.
WHAT: Texas Tech University Transfer of Reins and Passing of Guns ceremonies
WHEN: Friday (April 19): 2 p.m. Passing of Guns, 3 p.m. Transfer of Reins
WHERE: The McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center on the Texas Tech campus
EVENT: The Masked Rider Program’s 52nd rider will take the reins of the program’s new horse from Ashley Wenzel, the 2012-2013 Texas Tech Masked Rider.
Two graduating Raider Reds, one who has served three years and was the face of the Capital One Mascot Challenge, and another who has served two years, will be unmasked and transfer their guns to new Raider Reds.
