TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY – What is being described as a “small explosion” occurred in the Texas Tech College of Agriculture Sciences and Natural Resources Annex after 9pm Wednesday night.
University spokesman Chris Cook said a gas line had been leaking in a room of the builidng when a maintenance person set-off the explosion by flipping a light switch.
There were no injuries resulting from the explosion. The building was unoccupied at the time.
The explosion caused a small hole in an interior wall and the event is under investigation by the Fire Marshall’s Office.
