March First Friday Trail Presents Infiltrations:
An Exhibition of Drawings and Paintings by Adéwálé Adénlé
Assistant Professor Adéwálé Adénlé will be presented by Texas Tech University’s School of Art at the First Friday Art Trail from 6-9 p.m. on March 1, at the Satellite Gallery at the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts (LHUCA).
His exhibition, “Infiltrations,” reveals important sociopolitical developments in Adénlés’ African background, connecting those developments with related occurrences in the United States. His artwork, built on distorted wood panels, asserts imagery into the viewer’s space and projects the perceived invasiveness of politics in their daily lives.
The gallery will be open from noon – 4 p.m. on Saturdays, with the exception of March 1, when it will be open to the public for the First Friday Trail. Parking and admission are both free.
First Friday Art Trail is one of Lubbock’s longest-running and most successful art events where galleries, restaurants and businesses open their doors with a large collection of local and regional visual and performing art. For further information, call (807) 742-1947 or visit www.ffat.org.
The exhibitions, speakers and related programs at Landmark Arts and Texas Tech School of Art are made possible, in part, by grants from the Helen Jones Foundation and the CH Foundation. Additional support comes from the fees of cultural activities, administered through the College of Visual & Performing Arts.
