LUBBOCK – A Texas Tech University researcher recently started a six-year term on a committee that evaluates grants submitted to the National Institutes of Health.
Texas Tech University is taking a big step forward in research and development for national defense.
Management firm Consolidated Nuclear Security, LLC (CNS) received approval recently from the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) to pursue a lease for a facility that will transform the skyline of the Pantex Plant, the nation’s only nuclear weapons assembly and disassembly facility and a key element in the U.S. nuclear security enterprise. Pantex is located 17 miles east of Amarillo.
(LUBBOCK) – Texas Tech University System Chancellor Robert Duncan announced today (July 7) the official appointment of Provost Lawrence Schovanec as the 17th president of Texas Tech University. The announcement follows today’s special called Board of Regents meeting and vote to affirm Schovanec as university president. Schovanec will officially begin the role Aug. 1.
“I am excited to welcome Dr. Schovanec as the next president of Texas Tech University,” Duncan said. “He has served Texas Tech tremendously for more than three decades and has a bold vision for our future. I have no doubt he will elevate our university to an even greater level of success.”
