Your Weekend Forecast
While we’re starting the morning with very little on the radar across the South Plains – an approaching upper level disturbance, in combination with higher moisture levels, will produce scattered showers and thunderstorms later this morning. Areas near and south of Lubbock will have the best chance of measurable rainfall, some of which could be heavy.
Thursday’s Forecast
Warm temperatures will continue into Thursday, though Thursday afternoon highs will not be as warm as Wednesday’s; likely in the lower 80’s. Thursday will begin muggy with low clouds, especially off of the Caprock.
Wednesday’s Forecast
Thanks to much higher moisture levels this morning, low clouds have moved into much of the South Plains. However, as we head through the day, the ‘dry-line’ will move eastward and as it does so, clouds will clear out behind it.
Tuesday’s Forecast
Typical spring weather has arrived! Tuesday will still begin on the cool side; around 50 degrees. By afternoon, temperatures will be in the mid 80’s across the city of Lubbock, under partly cloudy skies.
Monday’s Forecast
Today will be a bit of a ‘transition’ day across the South Plains. High temperatures will be on the cool side, with values only making it into the lower 70’s. Winds have turned southerly, and will pick up into the 10-20 mph range by this afternoon.
Your Weekend Forecast
After a record breaking- cold – morning across the city of Lubbock, a warming trend has begun. Highs this afternoon will make into the 60s, under mostly sunny skies and a gusty wind.
Thursday’s Forecast
Cold weather and windy conditions will be present across the city of Lubbock for the next 24-36 hours. Thursday will begin in the mid 30’s across the Hub City, with a gusty north wind that will knock wind chills down into the 20’s and 30’s. There will be low clouds and a few areas of mixed precipitation around town through mid morning. Accumulations are not expected in Lubbock, but make sure to slow down and leave plenty of space between you and the driver in front of you if damp road conditions are present.
Wednesday’s Forecast
After wild weather on Tuesday afternoon, it appears that Wednesday will bring another round of drastic changes. A strong cold front will bring an end to the record heat. The front will move through Lubbock between 11 AM and 2 PM. Ahead of it, there will be a slight chance of isolated thunderstorms, mainly to the east of Lubbock.
