(Washington DC) — Texas senator John Cornyn says it’s time to make killing a local police officer a federal matter. The Republican lawmaker yesterday introduced his “Back the Blue” Act on the Senate floor. It would make killing or assaulting a law officer a federal crime subject to the death penalty and a mandatory minimum 30-year prison sentence. The legislation was sparked by last week’s Dallas sniper attack that killed five police officers.

(Undated) — Pokemon Go is now the biggest mobile game in U.S. history. Survey Monkey reports the reality game attracted almost 21 million users as of Tuesday in the United States. Previous record holders were Draw Something with 16 million users and Candy Crush with about 20 million. Within 24 hours, Pokemon Go hit number one on the App Store and after three days, the game had attracted more users than Twitter. Dallas Buildings Set To Re-Open Today After Attack

Parts of the city remain an active crime scene following Thursday’s sniper attack that left five police officers dead. Two Dallas County administrative buildings along with a museum and court building will be open as normal today. President Obama is set to travel to Dallas tomorrow for a memorial service.
