Album Review: Bedroom- Better Friends

Better Friends is the newest single from the artist Bedroom. Coming off their last album in 2021, this new release of music is exciting for all fans of Bedroom. This track gives me the feeling of Dream pop meeting indie folk mixed really well together. With this you are hit with gut wrenching lyrics on top of the melancholy sounds that you hear. Talking about loneliness, self hate but then they talk about wanting their friends or even better friends.

Both the lyrics and the music give you completely different vibes but it works so well together. There was a moment in the song that really got me off guard and surprised me in a good way. Towards the end of the track you hear a steel guitar solo. Which is normally used in country music, but I loved the usage of it in this song. It felt like they really wanted to pull in that southern folk sound, which really puts the cherry on top of this song.

The artist behind Bedroom is named Noah Kittinger. He said in an interview that what he wanted for this new single was ā€œ the theme of the year was home, and home for me was the south. The use of the pedal steel felt like home.ā€ With the very intimate songwriting and beautiful music for it I would highly suggest giving this single a listen.
