Album Review: “Wellness Center” by Nina Garbus

Let’s get into a little bit of information about the band Nina Garbus! For starters, the band group released their first album in March of this year, the album being: Wellness Center.

I find it quite exciting that the songs on this track are, well…NEW!

More than anything, I tend to focus more so on lyrics than the musical aspects that go into play within songs. However, what kept me going from one song to the next was how vastly different some of them were to each other. This band has most certainly been experimental in their approach towards creating their music. I feel like it shows a taste of perspective and open-mindedness that I can all around appreciate!

Along with the same point, I can imagine where and when some of their songs would be played. As well as the diversity the album has to offer. For instance, Waynesboro is rhythmically upbeat, fast, and portrays the sense of something loud and grand. Whereas, right after Waynesboro, Etude is calmer and more soulful, while it’s still upbeat, it’s significantly more mellow than the song prior to it.

Being that Wellness Center is Nina Garbus’s first album, I’m excited to see what the band has coming out next!
