I had never heard of Twelve25 before listening to this album, and I must say, I am very impressed and will most likely be listening to more of them in the future. There was your traditional relaxed indie vibes, but there were mixes of some hard guitar solos and instrumentals that added a unique sense to the album.
If one thing absolutely carried this album, it was the use of the guitar solos. Almost every song had them, and I have to say, it was unexpected but very much appreciated. This album had many unique uses of other instruments as well. For instance, there was a harp solo, saxophone solo, and a flute and guitar duo at the beginning of the song “Infinity Mirrors”. I have to admit, I have never heard a song, much less an indie song, use the harp, saxophone, and flute in the same song.
The rapping was also unexpected, although I am sure that if I was a fan before this album it would not have been. But it was the perfect vocal accompaniment to the music of the album. The lyrics in every song had a depth to them. Each song had a story or lesson to tell or emotion to convey, and each song did it very well. Overall the album was a very lovely surprise with not only unique depth from the instrumentals but the lyrics as well.
