If there is one thing I am going to take away from this album, it’s the guitar. That’s it, that was the best part of this album. Not that the album was bad, it was that the guitar was just that good. Throughout the album, the songs started to sound a bit similar, but then they would have a guitar solo or just riff in the song that completely transformed it into something else. The instrumentals in a few of the songs had a guitar solo that just took the spotlight and ran with it.
I think a few other notable positives were the beats and the vibes. Some songs started out slow and developed a groove to them that was very reminiscent of a country/samba combination, and I loved it. The entire album had a hint of country to it, which was surprising but not bad. Some of my instant playlist adds include “Sleeper”, “Unwind”, and “Everything Is Simple”.
Overall, I would give this album a 7/10. Some parts were pretty repetitive despite the guitar’s best efforts, but it was still quite an enjoyable listen.
