Pandemic precautions will be in place as Texas Legislature opens 2021 session

Pandemic precautions will be in effect at the State Capitol when the 2021 legislative session begins next month.

The chairman of the House Administration Committee made the announcement to lawmakers on Monday.  State Rep.

Charlie Geren says masks will be required and people entering the building should be tested for coronavirus ahead of time. 

The Fort Worth Republican says temperature checks or other screenings may be required, the ceremony will be shortened, and fewer people will be allowed to attend.
