Shy Boys are an indie pop/psychedelic pop quintet that is based in Kansas City. The Shy Boys consists of members like Ross Brown, Konner Ervin, Kyle Little, and brothers Colin and Kyle Rausch. Talk Loud is the groups third studio album. The first track of the album, In Gloves is a great first track with beautiful vocal harmonies by the group. The song is very cheerful with very unique instruments in the background. Fraid I Might Die is a song with this sort of chant about living and the fear of death. The vocals in the background are so unique kind of giving this acapella tone.
Talk Loud is one of my favorite tracks off this project. The keys coming off the piano, the drumbeats, and vocals on this song are just so mesmerizing. Not to mention the parts where the song goes with this unique sparkly sound without any lyrics. The song is certainly a trip to say the least. Price Tag is another favorite of mine off this album. The song is very smooth and relaxing to listen too. This is a song I can get lost in while listening too. The end of the track where the vocals are more cheerful, remind me of some Queen songs.
The Pool is another song with a relaxed tone, but with a more quiet and delicate approach. This is a song that I can put on while I sleep. It is a dreamy sounding song. The next track titled Trash is another unique track off this unique album. The tempo of this track starts off slow but picks up with instruments and beautiful vocals. View From the Sky is another great track off this album. It is just catchy like the whole album.
Boiling Water, Accidental Interaction, and Nighttime Party continue this narrative of this whole album being a treat to listen to. The final track off this album, Good Thing is a good closing track that ends the project nicely. Shy Boys latest album is an amazing project that I am glad I was able to check out. This might be my favorite new album of this year and I highly recommend this project.
