The Vikings come down the Dallas and beat the Cowboys 28-24 in an exciting Sunday Night Football matchup.
Minnesota got on the board early with the help of long-time tight end Kyle Rudolph. The veteran caught two 1-yard touchdowns within 10 minutes of the first quarter, including a nice one-hander, to give the Vikings a head start.
The Cowboys then answered back as Michael Gallup and Randall Cobb caught accurate 20-yard passes from Dak Prescott, who ended the night with 397 passing yards.
The Vikings then drove down the field in a two-minute drill and allowed former Cowboys’ kicker, Dan Bailey, to kick a 26 yarder.
After another Bailey field goal early in the 3rd, Dallas then took their first lead of the game with a 12-yard touchdown pass to Amari Cooper, who ended with 147 receiving yards. Later in the 3rd, Dalvin Cook ran 2 of his 97 total rushing yards to score on the goal line and then enter Kyle Rudolph again to catch a two-point conversion to get the lead back for Minnesota.
Then into the fourth quarter, the Vikings began to shut down the Cowboys’ offense. In the whole game, the Vikings defense held the highest-paid running back in the league, Ezekiel Elliot, to only 47-yards on 20 carries. Dallas kicker Brett Maher hit a 23-yarder in the fourth, but the Cowboys had one final chance on the final drive, where Dak Prescott got around the 50-yard line and tossed up a hail marry, only to be intercepted by Jayron Kearse.
