The Philadelphia Eagles have lost their beloved veteran, Darren Sproles for the rest of the season from a torn right hip flexor. In response to Sproles’ injury, the Eagles have signed Jay Ajayi back on the team.
Sadly, this could be the end to the 5′ 6”, 36-year-old’s career. He recently this season, Sproles passed Hall of Fame receiver Tim Brown to be in fifth place in career all-purpose yards. He went to Instagram to announce that his 15 season career could come to a close. In a recent post, Sproles said:
“Man what a ride… I put my all in this game since the age of 8. I played every snap like it was my last. If I never put that #43 on again I have no regrets I gave it my all and I hope I made my family proud!”
To add even more fuel to the running back fire, starter Jordan Howard has not been cleared to play from a slight shoulder injury. On the Eagles’ injury report, Howard is currently listed as questionable.
The Eagles will have a Super Bowl rematch against the Patriots this Sunday in Philadelphia. Without Sproles, and also Alshon Jeffery and Nigel Bradham all out, Philly fans can only hope that Ajayi remembers a lot of the playbook from when he played with them in 2017.
