A cockfighting ring is out of business in Hays County.
The case stems from a visit earlier this month by county animal control officers at a residence on Rolling Hills Drive in Buda on an animal abuse complaint.
Enough evidence was found to open a criminal investigation last week and execute a search warrant on the property.
More than one-hundred fowl, male and female were removed from the property and are being cared for now at the San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter.
Donations are being accepted to cover the additional kennels and chicken feed costs.
