Sunday’s MLB Postseason

This Sunday, the LA Dodgers smacked the Nationals in Washington while the Braves held off the Cardinals in St. Louis.

The Braves gained the lead on the series 2-1 with their 3-1 victory over the Cardinals. Mike Soroka got the start for Atlanta and only allowed 2 hits, a run, and had 7 strikeouts while the Cardinals started Adam Wainwright who only allowed 4 hits and had 8 K’s. It wasn’t until St. Louis’ closer Carlos Martinez came in for only an inning and allowed 3 hits which were 2 doubles to give Atlanta the advantage.

These two will play game 4 tonight in St. Louis as the Cardinals will have to win in order to not go home early in the postseason.

Also on Sunday, the LA Dodgers beat the Washington Nationals 10-4. The Nats got on the board early with Juan Soto hitting a 2-run homer. After a Muncy homer in the fifth, the Dodgers exploded with a 7 run 6th inning. Martin and Hernandez both doubled bringing in 4 while Justin Turner had a 3-run 418-foot homer.

Washington tried to fight back by scoring off a wild pitch from Joe Kelly and a sacrifice fly from Cabrera which brought the game to 8-4. But catcher Russell Martin hit a 2-run home run in the top of the 9th to beat the Nationals by 6.

Game 4 between the Dodgers and Nationals will be tonight with a first-pitch set for 5:40 central time.
