After just two seasons in Philadephia, manager Gabe Kapler was fired this morning.
Even with acquiring the player with the best hair in the league, Bryce Harper, the team only went 81-81 and barely missed a postseason spot.
Phillies owner John Middleton said “Several years ago, I promised our loyal fans that I would do everything in my power to bring a world championship team to our city. I will never waver from that commitment. … I have decided that some changes are necessary to achieve our ultimate objective. Consequently, we will replace our manager.”
Kapler is now the third manager in a row to be fired without playing two full seasons. Middletown stated that the team’s GM Matt Klentak will be in charged of searching for the Phillies next manager to push them onto the next level.
