A key piece to the Rockets high powered offense, Gerald Green could be out for the rest of the season after a Lisfranc fracture.
Green originally got injured during last Thursday’s preseason victory over the Toronto Raptors in Japan. Houston’s medical staff originally thought it was just a sprain, but after some more examinations, it looks like it is most likely a fracture. The Houston native will see another specialist today.
At 33 years old, Green has come off the bench for Houston for the last 2 seasons and has averaged 10.2 points in only 20.9 minutes per game.
Head coach Mike D’Antoni has told reporters that rookie Chris Clemons has a shot to fill Green’s spot, as well as Austin Rivers, Ben McLemore, and veteran Thabo Sefolosha.
