Yesterday the U.S. Basketball team lost to Serbia 94-89 to become the worst American team in program history.
The Americans will finish in either seventh or eighth places in China depending on how they play against Poland tomorrow at 3 a.m.
Harrison Barnes led the team with 22 points, while Kemba Walker had 18 and Khris Middleton had 16 against Serbia. After the embarrassing loss, in a postgame interview, Barnes said how this may be the last time many of the current USA players will play for the team.
America’s center Myles Turner wrote on Twitter that “we’re also the ones who stepped up to the plate when others stepped down. We qualified our nation for the Olympics.”
Sacramento King’s Bogdan Bogdanovic had 28 points for Serbia’s team said: “It’s a really tough game to play against those guys.” He continued to say “I’m sure both teams were really upset after losing in the quarterfinals and we were just trying to make people happy.”
