Rockets vs. Sharks in First Preseason game

The Houston Rockets will face the Shanghai Sharks tonight at 7 for their first preseason game of the year.

Head coach Mike D’Antoni has not announced if any starters will play in the preseason, but its most likely that the new all-star Russell Westbrook will not play in the series.

Westbrook has been practicing and scrimmaging for the team’s first two days of practice after Friday’s media day.

When asked about his first Rockets practice, Russ said: “Just intense, good energy, moving in the right direction, feeling good about where we are. Obviously, it’s the first day, but get a chance to create some chemistry, some camaraderie and figure out the right things we need to figure out.”

Later he was asked about how it’s like being back with James Harden again, he said: “Man, it’s just a blessing to go out on the floor with guys that want to compete, that want to win. Obviously, with people that you are familiar with is always a plus. But just to get out and start hooping again is a great thing for me and happy to be able to do it.”
