Harper Eliminated from Playoffs by Former Team

The Washington Nationals beat the Philadelphia Phillies 4-1 yesterday, eliminating Bryce Harper and his team from the postseason.

Harper only had one hit in the loss against his former team of seven years while his new team only had five total. For the Nationals, Trea Turner had 3 hits and Anthony Rendon had 2 RBIs in their victory.

Now the question comes down to this, did Harper really improve the Phillies? Well, the Phillies ending record last year was 80-82, this season, they are currently 79-77 with 6 more games to go.

MLB’s best hair hasn’t necessarily had a spectacular year in Philadelphia either. This was the second season where he didn’t make the All-Star team, but he did have a career-high of 108 RBIs, 140 hits which are his second-most in the regular season in his career. On the other hand, Harper had the third-worst batting average of his career of .257.

At the end of the day, it is only Harper’s first season in Philadelphia, and the team gets to have the slugger for 13 more years, but losing a record-breaking 330 million in the process to pay the man.
