Cowboys Release Former First-Rounder Taco Charlton

The Dallas Cowboys have released their 28th overall pick in the 2017 Draft out of Michigan, Taco Charlton.

Charlton had shown that he did not like the role that he played on the team and had reportedly requested a trade months before the regular season. Dallas looked for possible trades from teams across the league but the 24-year-old demanded to be released.

With only one sack last season, Charlton was inactive for the first two games this season, but Dallas’ defense didn’t seem to be lacking at the defensive end position. During the offseason, the Cowboys acquired the All-Pro Robert Quinn from a trade from the Dolphins. This trade could have possibly been to replace Charlton.

Taco also missed many games last season and was actually benched for a game due to attitude issues, which could be seen by having conflict with the coaching staff throughout the season.

The former Wolverine is currently a free agent and will look for teams to sign him to coach him on his maturity and dedication.
